For Students and Young Singers

Tulsa Youth Opera

Inaugurated in 1997, Tulsa Youth Opera is a tuition-free chorus for young singers ages 8-18. Each season Tulsa Youth Opera is featured in a Tulsa Opera mainstage opera or in a special concert. During the 2007-2008 season, Tulsa Youth Opera will participate in the mainstage production of Tosca. Additionally, in honor of the 10th-anniversary of Tulsa Youth Opera, a special TYO production of The Pirates of Penzance featuring an all-student cast will be presented at the new Cascia Hall Performing Arts Center in November.

Tulsa Youth Opera music rehearsals are regularly held on Tuesday afternoons.  TYO members also receive theory and foreign language diction lessons during each rehearsal.
